What is a scaffold tower?
Think of a scaffold tower as a cross between a regular scaffolding set-up & a ladder. These hybrid devices consist of a metal scaffolding gantry raised up to a given height, dependent on your specifications. Whereas more traditional scaffolding solutions would see the structure firmly secured to the floor to prevent movement, the scaffold tower hire package includes a wheeled platform. This allows the scaffold tower to be moved around the site, so it can be taken from point A to point B, without the need to dismantle it & rebuild it elsewhere. Despite this innovation, scaffold towers remain as sturdy and as rigid as their traditional counterparts, but they save you the time & cost of erecting scaffolding around an entire structure.
Is a scaffold tower right for me?
It really depends on what you are using it for. Scaffolding is a versatile instrument and often it’s doing more than just acting as something for your workers to clamber over. Often your scaffolding is also acting as a support to the building on which you are working, performing the same service as a brace for the wall or ceiling. In circumstances such as this – no – a scaffold tower hire package is probably not the best idea for the job. On the other hand, if you have a lot of work to be done at height and across a large area, scaffold towers are the ideal solution. We can erect your scaffold tower at one end of the project and, once you are finished with any given part of it, it is just a simple matter of roll it over to the next part on its wheeled platform.
